Canadian Jazz-Fusion Trio
UZEB
UZEB is a celebrated jazz-fusion trio from Montreal featuring guitarist Michel Cusson, bassist Alain Caron, and drummer Paul Brochu. Formed in the late 1970s, the group built an international reputation through its technical musicianship, innovative compositions, and energetic live performances. Over the course of its career, UZEB released ten albums, sold more than 500,000 records, completed successful world tours, and became one of the most recognized names in electric jazz and fusion music.
The band received numerous honors, including nine Félix Awards, a Gemini Award for Best Original Score, a SOCAN Award, and the Oscar Peterson Lifetime Achievement Award. Their influence can also be heard throughout a discography that includes releases such as UZEB Live in Bracknell, Fast Emotion, You, Be Easy, Absolutely Live, Noisy Nights, and UZEB Club.
Their legacy is powerfully captured in The Last Concert, featuring UZEB’s electrifying 1991 performance at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier during the Montreal Jazz Festival. Recorded after a successful two-year world tour and digitally remastered in 5.1 surround sound, the concert showcases the band at its creative peak and preserves an important moment in jazz-fusion history.
